AFter a 9% drop in their quarterly numbers, wendy's has decided to rollout self serving kiosks in over 6,000 stores nationwide. HEadquarters announced just 4 days ago that they would ultimately leave the decision to each franchise owner but would have the kiosks ready and available for them if they choose to implement the systems.
this decisions also follows, what many believed would be a possible disaster move, the hike in minimum wage to $15.00. while employees across the nation rejoice in their efforts to revolutionize the qsr industry, many franchisees are clawing to try and keep up with balancing profit losses, new wage increases and quality of service.
It was just a few months ago that mcdonald's started exploring the kiosk realm out in the u.k. but it seems that the powerhouse, wendy's, will lead the qsr revolution into the future of self serving kiosks, here in the united states.
